[GreenKeys] Here's an odd device - Teletype and Morse?

Looking at the picture more closely:
What is the light bulb for ? Character counter to know when to send CR LF?
The handle in front makes it portable?
What powers the keyboard shaft? Case looks too small for a motor.
Was it made from a M14 chassis & cover?
