Excellent video! I live near SLC, I'll try to come by the Maker Faire. I
missed it last year.

Subject: [GreenKeys] Taking my Teletypes to the Faire

Hi all,

I'm taking my M15 and M19 to the 2018 Salt Lake City Mini Maker Faire. I've
got a couple of Eric Volpe's boards built (well, 1.5 boards-- I need to
solder the second one still) and will have attendees send email and SMS to
them as well as choose art to print out. I know we have at least a couple of
other Utahns on the list here, so feel free to drop by. I'd love to meet any
fellow GreenKeyers.

I put together an advertising video to attract people.

Unfortunately I haven't had enough time to put the boards and power supply
in a fancy case, nor have I built plexiglass cases for the teletypes so the
innards can be seen but better protected. That will have to wait until next
year. Everything works as intended, though.

Yes, I know, strictly speaking the M19 didn't exist until the 40s, and it's
technically not ASCII art. The target audience is people who don't know the
rich history of teleprinters, though, so I kept the details simplified. I do
plan to post more technical videos in time.

Anyway, this is an exciting moment for me. I only got into these fascinating
machines a couple of years ago, but I see bringing them to this event as a
sort of culmination of all the knowledge I've gained so far, much if not
most of which I've gleaned from members of GreenKeys. So thank you all!

Also a special thanks to Eric Volpe. I'm an amateur when it comes to
designing electronics, and he helped me understand his design better so I
could build it properly. He even sent me a few hard to find spare
components.
