I was honored to be part of a Veteran's Day program at my Grand-kid's elementary school (Wren Elementary) yesterday.  The school's principal, Mr. Bolger, honors all veterans each Veteran's Day, with a program designed to help introduce his kids to the concept of " duty, honor, county".  There were about 100 or so veterans at the program from all branches of the military.  Each one of us was introduced to the children.  A local Vietnam vet gave a presentation of what is means to serve our great nation.  It would be wonderful if more would follow the example that Mr. Bolger, a naturalized citizen from Ireland, sets for his students.   
A Veteran (Definition) -  weather active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve - is someone who, at some point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including his or her life."
