Not to be the vocabulary police, I think I found an original "typo" in  the 
verse.
 
In the 9th paragraph, 6th sentence, there is the word "BANE" - I think the  
author meant to use the word "VANE".
 
Thanks to Sam for working on it so you can read it as intended.
