GM OMs;
Back around 1970 I got my ST-6 kit.
When it came time to tune the filters, I borrowed
an oscilloscope, audio generator, DVM, and a huge
bag of capacitors. I spent an entire weekend tuning
the ST-6 until all the filters were tuned as close
to perfection as was possible. It looked (and still does)
pretty ugly inside, but has worked since then.
I recently picked up an ST-6 that was built by HAL.
The person who wired it did a phenomenal job - but
the tuning leaves a lot to be desired. This really
isn't a problem - because its sole use is to copy
the ARVADA ITTY channel, where there is no QRM or static,
but the display on the oscilloscope, well, STINKS!
QUESTION:
I've been out-of-the-loop when it comes to building stuff,
and want to know is there a variable capacitor available
now that has a good enough "Q" so that I can use that
instead of cut-and-try fix-value caps?
If not, does anyone know a source where I could get a
bag of multiple value capacitors?

Oh, great: This new "Day Planner" I bought has
nothing but blank pages. Now I have no idea
what I'm supposed to be doing tomorrow.
