THANKS for the tip on the tool! looked at google and ordered a push & pull spring tool. looks like it will make life much easier when installing (or removing) the springs. the blue hair ladies must have had a lot of patience and steady hands to work on this stuff. still amazes me on the engineering & assembly of a teletype machine!
