Hi guys,
I have been following this site for a little while and am very impressed with the interest and knowledge in teletype. During my high school days I was a member of Army MARS and obtained teletype equipment to join the nets. I started with a Model-15 and built a homemade TU (It won first place in the NJ Craftsman Fair in 1962). I eventually obtained a Model-19 along with other equipment as well as military surplus items (see list below). All this equipment is from the early 1960’s and in use until around 1968 when I got married and moved to LA for my Air Force tour. The equipment remained at my parents house until the mid 1970’s where it was brought to my home in Mercerville, NJ. It has been in storage in my dry/non-smoking basement since then with only some dust covering some items. The 19 was not abused and has been sitting covered in the corner of the shack. I attempted to get it up and running a few years ago and it came back to life after some oiling. The only issue was a problem with the shift control … I spent a little time troubleshooting but didn’t have time to continue. Since I retired a few years ago I have been attempting to clean up the basement in the probability of eventually moving to a smaller house. The 19 is heavy and now is just in the way and the other equipment listed are taking up too much room. I have a basic radio shack setup and only have time to occasionally get on the air and work on some small projects. As the list below shows I have some radio and computer equipment sitting around that I would like to see go to someone who would make use of it rather than hauling it to the dump. I enclosed some pictures and would be happy to provide more closeups and information as needed. I’m not out to make money for these items but would entertain any offers or donation to museums. Since a lot of the items are heavy I would like those to be picked up, but I would ship the smaller ones. I plan to be at the Trenton Computer Festival (I live about 10 minutes away) on March 18th if anyone wants to pickup something or I could meet at a reasonable distance. I’m toying with the idea of keeping the typing/keyboard reperf connected to my TU to maintain some machine RTTY capability or the possibility of trading for one of the smaller 20/30 series machines. 8. KAAR 12TR510A 450 MHz, 50W mobile FM transceiver (tubes). Has control head and microphone. New condition. Has crystals for old RCA Astro repeater.
9. Weston 6701/21 130 VAC scale chart recorder
10. High Voltage power supply (home built) used for ART-13 transmitter. 1,500 V @ 300 Ma (866 tubes)/500V @ 250 Ma/28V @ 10 A. In 12” rack panel.
11. Lafayette HE-35-A 6 meter transceiver.
12. CEC DC Amplifier Type I-155. As is -has a “Defective tag” attached
13. Motorola FMTRU41V 2 meter FM transceiver. Has crystals for 34/94. Missing control head.
14. Custom built dual FM (153 MHz/40 MHz) police receiver. Made up from Motorola receiver strips similar to the FMTRU41V unit. Mounted in cabinet with AC power supply and speaker.
15. Same as police receiver above - signal frequency – 153 MHz.
16. Plectron 153 MHz FM police receiver (crystal control)
