I'm pretty sure the first time I ever saw a WU 100-series machine was when
I was a teen ager in the mid 1950s and visited the Arkansas state capitol
building. There was a WU machine printing out press wire service copy.

That's surely not the intended use of the machine, since it was of lighter
construction than the Model 15 and probably was WUs take on a machine to
fill the role intended for the Model 26 and then the 32/33. That is,
machine for customers who didn't send a lot of telegrams. I have no idea
how there happened to be a WU machine in the state capitol since the wire
services normally provided the machines and the machine were normally
Model 15s.

Of course we know the Model 33s found other roles as console devices for
computers and as terminals in computer time sharing systems, and in
those roles they were worked much harder than they were designed for.

Also we know that W.U. had some input to the Model 32/33 design, such as
insisting on 28-style clutches rather than the felt washer and disc style.
