 I've found that Bristol drivers snap in two before they ever have stripped a screw head.  Annoying, but not so much as a stripped screw head down inside a hole.  :-)
I've also found most people, even among tool-heads, have never seen or heard of a Bristol screw and keep jamming Allen wrenches into them (& usually also cursing the screw).

I think every company I'd ever worked for had someone, or some office, whose additional duty was company historian.  But lately I've tried inquiring of a couple of old-time companies about their official historian & they don't know anything about it.
