It has been a good long run playing with teletype machines and other
apparatus.
ITTY has been around for about fifteen years, and it is now in the
capable hands of Paul Heller - W2TTY.
I am now 75, and have the prospect of dealing with health issues for the
balance of my time above room temperature. My eyes are such that often I
cannot just look at something, I must get a magnifying glass.
I have trouble picking up small parts. Objects I place on a table seem
to go away for odd lengths of time and then suddenly reappear right
where I left them.
The biggest concern I have is the possibility of shuffling off of this
mortal coil leaving my wife with the onerous task of what to do with all
of the "stuff".
To this end, Paul Heller and I have come to an agreement that in the
near future all of the TTY stuff will be placed in a heated storage
room, and he will see that items will be portioned out to deserving
parties.
Really useless stuff will be placed in the Junque Trailer and
transported to the dump.
There are some premium goodies however, which will take some
consideration on Paul's part to ascertain deserving recipients.
The model 28 perforator hammer project will be one of the first items I
shall pursue. The molds are done, and the trick is to learn how to deal
with the outgassing of the resin so that large voids to not form. It's
close, but no cigar at this time.
I have a moderate sized box of model 32/33/35 parts. I have never cared
for those machines, yet have accumulated some worthy odds and ends, such
as a brand new 181420 60-speed gear in the original wrapper.
And so on.
I see Paul is home, as I just had an e-mail arrive about his ITTY set up.
Paul and I will be letting Y'all know about how the Junque Trove will be
shared with those interested.
I wish each and every GreenKeyer a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY New
YEAR.
It's been 60 years of fun with machinery, and it are time to take it easy.
73,
George - W7TTY
