Hi Eric;

No, - I think it is ignorance on their part.

They have NO IDEA of what a Teletype machine is or
how it works - and, apparently neither did the folks
who wrote the software for glass machines.

A LONG TIME ago I ran into someone using glass. I told
him what was happening - and suggested he look into the
manual (HEAVEN FORBID!) or help menu. He said: "No one
else ever complained (so, in other words, must be ME with
the problem and NOT HIM). He abruptly ended the QSO.

When a glass-op would call CQ, I'd watch to see if his
transmission contained CR/LFs. If not, I'd skip over them.

That was one of the great things about the early days of RTTY:
You had to LEARN stuff to be able to get on the air - you didn't
open a cardboard box, throw the manuals in the "circular file",
plug everything in - and get on the air - and, like everything
else "what you paid for something is what it is worth".

MicroSoft error messages written in Haiku:

         Yesterday it worked.
       Today it is not working.
         Windows is like that.
