Kevin and others!!
lots of motors all types in the Bell Practice at
John Nagle's Manual page... Although not a WU
manual there is some learning to be derived from this.
I am going to print this out my eyes get wonky looking at screen
too much!

Greetings
My latest WU 2B with the 3A Gumming Table is getting a new-to-it AC
Synchronous Motor. Upon attempting the install it has been determined that the
cloth covered wire insulation on the leads is much crunchier than I like. The
leads appear to be about 16 gauge. The leads on the other 2B I have are
closer to 18 gauge. I checked it with a meter and it wasn't shorted but I do
not trust it.
So, it seems to me like the next step would be to (gently) pull the fan
and attack it from that end but wasn't there some discussion about difficulty
in (pulling the fan) several years ago? I tried to search the archives but
found nothing. So, rewire or no and if so can i get away with 18 gauge?
