Yes... Jim the ones that accept the gummed strips is what we are
looking for.

I guess if I had one to shoot from I could make some page of and it
is amazing what colors of paper can be special ordered. Well for demo
purposes that would be the way to go so 'artifacts' are not used up...
but would be good to have 'real' pad from each company for a display.
what is fun too are all the special issue forms for all the holidays
birthdays etc.. We fell heir to a collection of telegrams song back way
back but in there wee all the special forms too! There were all used
forms.

The fellow that had collected them as a maintenance person for WU and
we have class photos from maintenance classes, photos of his lash up or
amateur radio gear but the neatest thing was this maintenance book that
had samples of print good and bad when machines needed fixing and also
all the tests and the trouble reports too. This thing needs to be
scanned... pretty fragile and would we will have to be really careful with it.

25 or more years ago I was in contact with a fellow in the Morse Telegraph
Club who had made reproductions of Western Union and Postal Telegraph
message blanks. But these were from wire telegraph days and the paper
was lined since the messages were mostly copied by hand. I don't imagine
he is still living.

What are somewhat easy to find are W.U. blanks used by customers to write
their telegrams before handing them over the counter to the W.U. clerk.
I imagine it's harder to find the W.U. forms used for gumming tape down to
the form to produce the telegram to be delivered to the customer. I
wonder how many forms we would have to order to get a printing company to
make some. As I recall they are a rather odd size, and a color of paper
that you don't ordinarily see. W.U. also made use of salmon-colored paper
with no printing on it for messages that the customer would not see.
Such as telegrams received by telephone, or those used internally in the
company.
