I bought a couple of these DC buck converters a while ago too. In a
drawer I found what may have been my first soldered kit. Check it out
it's an Eico EC 700 Mystifier. Random blinking neon bulbs.

Some NE2 neon bulbs, resistors and capacitors. Back in the day I powered
it from a really long narrow 90 volt 'B' battery. They aren't
manufactured anymore.

These inexpensive buck converters are handy for powering Vacuum
fluorescent display (VFDs) projects too.
