Simon,

I don't have a Model 14 handy for checking (most are over in Storage) but 
Teletype Corp is known for favoring UNF threaded fasteners.  #6 is 0.138" 
diameter which is near enough 3.5 mm.  #8 is 0.164" which is 4.166 mm.  So my 
educated guess would be #8-36.
