I use putty, but all those choices seem fine.

I'm kinda hoping someone will have a go at setting up HeavyMetal, you can do so much
more with it than with just a terminal program, and these boards work perfectly with
it. (put them in "notranslate" mode for best compatibility)

Maybe I should send one to Javier, too.

I bought a 120VDC power supply module on ebay for around $50 and added a big fat
2k resistor. It's not actually that compact but it puts out enough current to run
the M19 tape punch as well as the loop. Though just looking now the prices seem
to have shot up to $140ish for what looks like the same module... weird.

Yes indeed, ctrl-G translates to FIGS-S by default. If you have bell on some other
character you can change the map, but I've never seen it as anything other than figs-S.

Yeah, that is pretty easy. I'll add it to the next version.

I just type it up in a file and then use cut-n-paste to enter it into automsg.

Autostart on my 28 only takes one or two character times to come up to speed.
This gives me the idea of having a way to send the character sequence to power down
machines that have that function... my 28 has a motor relay triggered by figs-null-h
or something like that, I could probably have it send that to the tty on receipt of
some unusual ascii character from the usb side.
