Well back in the day, that I worked for West Coast Telephone Co. in the toll side of the house, and in that time a lot of the businesses had private line TTY circuits, which ran though our toll testboard. We monitor the TTY circuits with a 28 KSR TTY that had 100, 75, and a 60 speed transmission, and a Stelma Distortion Analyzer ( I actually have one and its serial #31 still works), so allot of times other TTY Toll boards would send pictures back an forth around the holidays, also we would get pictures on the local businesses. Keep in mind these local business was on cable pairs , and we got to know what business would send out pictures around the holidays to other TTYs they were directly connected to, then later on came the dial up TTYs that they could dial up any other TTY that was hooked up to dial tone, just like dialing up faxes now, there went the local TTY test boards. I like to tell younger people, Ham Radio back then, which they to could send out pictures, had "wireless texting, and it is also digital texting, even before we had personal computers and the telephones we have today.

  Hi Gang:

Back in the day, (before my time) does anyone recall the protocol for sending and receiving TTY pictures?
  Was there a certain time/day?
Was there a time limit? I understand you had to send your call sign very 15 minutes...how did that work?
  Was anyone "in charge"
Just looking for general info - but if you want to be specific, that's OK too.
  Thanks in advance.

  Tom
