Fosters?  That's what we Aussies tell Americans is our great beer :-)  
The stuff is as weak as cats' piss, and as sugary as hell.  Try Toohey's 
Old, if you want a real beer (although my dear old Dad held out for 
Reschs', which I couldn't stand).

Then again, we also convince them about our dreaded drop-bears...  No true 
Aussie drinks Fosters (Barry Mackenzie notwithstanding).

Now, a decent brown ale on the other hand (or even a black)...  It's got 
*body*.

I never trust a beer if I can see through it.

Mind you, I spent a week in USA once. and was bemused by said groceries 
selling grog...  Not to mention the signs saying "No guns permitted in 
this store" (I have a photo of that somewhere).
