I have DEC's documentation for the modifications they routinely made to teletypes that were sold for use with DEC computers. Nowhere does it say what call control unit is used, but the (very grainy) photos all show a UCC-6 as the base to which they added their reader-run relay. (They also document conversion of the TTY to operate on 220VAC, 50Hz.)
Both of the model 33's I have access to, both of which were used with PDP-8 computers, definitely sport UCC-6 call-control units.
