I use to have a re-inker that worked VERY WELL.  
It was made by a company called "computer friends" or something like that.
I remember very little but had the word friends in it.
I did ALL ribbons, spooked and cartridges. 
I started at work and once it got in the news letter I was inundated with all kinds of spooks and cartridges. I bought a gallon of ink and used almost 2/3 of it before I aid STOP-ENOUGH. 
I kept doing my own dot matrix ribbons and all of my tty ribbons and lost track of what I did with it. The rest-inked ribbons lasted me three years or more.
