When I make a RTTY contact, the first tape I send says I am using a 32 Teletype.

Maybe give point multipliers for every mechanical worked.  I had "ASR-33" in my calling string:  "CQ RU W5DT W5DT ASR-33 TEST" was what I was using. We could use M15, M19, M28, M32 etc. to identify a real TTY and what model it is.

I wonder… imagine if the glass teletype folks in these contests would asked one another “yeah, but how may mechanical contacts did you make?” I would think it would be special to make a mechanical contact. We should encourage it somehow.

CQ CQ CQ MECHANICAL TTY DE WA6FWI is a good suggestion for that.

Also during the QSO ask the other party “how often do you reach a mechanical TTY?” or "Put this one down in your log because contacts with a mechanical TTY are rare”, or something like that.
