[GreenKeys] 2016 RTTY Round Up Finished - Phew! (2nd Try)

Milliseconds to make a contact and then move onto the next? Sad to read this. Quantity vs. quality. More, more, more is all that counts? If so, ’tis a shame. I suddenly have a vision of an AI computer calling CQ, making the contact, recording the log, and going to the next. Worse yet, a second AI computer answering the CQ and talking to the first! Ugh.

But it sounds like Dave had fun.

My impression is that the vast majority are not interested in real machines (although I agree it would be fun to have a category for it, etc.) The first contest I worked (just a few years ago, really) I worked with an M15 and keyed my transmitter with a footswitch. The suggested exchange mentioned here would send most of the glass people into spasms of impatience. Where are the macros??? It strays far, far, far beyond the exact milliseconds required to make a contact. Also, few know what CR/LF means. My M15 was pounding holes in the paper at the end of lines.
