That capacitor probably has been replaced before or not the one called for
in the schematic. It is probably should be 100 uf at 250 volts. Going
somewhat higher is no problem.
The way capacitors are made now pack more in smaller packages.
It is often difficult to find capacitors of much over 100 volts with the
leads comming out of the ends. Most have the leads comming out of the same
end.
