(Sam Hallas linked to material about women teleprinter operators in WWII.)
The US Library of Congress' Prints & Photographs Division has online
a number of photographs which feature Teletype and related equipment.
Many of these show women operators. I've collected a number of the
LoC PP images (they can be hard to locate directly). See:

Those which feature female operators are at:
1943 Office of War Information photographs, taken by Esther Bubley:

1942 ATSF Railroad (a rather large image file):

1942 OWI photos:

1942 OWI, War Production Board:

Note: For some of these, the LoC has issued higher-resolution versions
since I put these galleries together. If you plan to use one of these
images, it would be worth going to the LoC source.
If you don't know of the LoC PP Division website, see:

and kiss the rest of your week goodbye - you'll be in there for days.
Regards,
David M.
