Oh, ok. I was thinking the serial port was just a simple low speed.
Obviously it isn't slow and it isn't simple. ;-)

So it does the baud and code conversion internal to the i-Telex "box."

Heh, my wife is already mad at me about having to "dial 9" for an outside
line at the house.

Just to be clear on this though, the TW39 port(s) on the i-Telex box
directly supports the FSG 564 Fehlersuchanleitung V.1.1 unit.
Which means the 5 mA/40 mA, 20 mS break and polarity reversal etc.
