Keith,

The H plate is the mechanical connection from the printer to the kybd. When you hit a key on the kybd, it should trip the distributor clutch. When the distributor clutch is almost done, it resets the kybd thru the long lever from the distributor area to the H plate and then the kybd reset lever in pics 3 and 4.

You have to perform the H plate adjustment. See a couple of pics.

With power off, loosen the H plate bracket slightly, move it till you can trip the distributor clutch. Then rotate the motor fan towards the front. The H plate should bring the reset lever sticking out of the front of the kybd to just past the point that the little latch in the kybd moves to the right to reset the kybd. You can barely see this little lever looking thru the front of the reset lever slot. You get tthe proper adjustment by moving the H plate bracket till you have the kybd reset. The over travel of the lever sticking out of the front is 5 to 25 thousands. The book may say differently.

If this doesnt work, the little reset lever inside the kybd may be stuck or spring missing.

Dont remove the kybd cover unless its secure in the 33 pan.

Hope this helps.

Wayne
