3/8-24 UNF (fine) may be it.. do not have a ruler here and get
crouched inn my recliner with a headache and do not feel like getting up...

I thought you said you found a bolt that fits? If so, just count the number
of thread per inch (or 1/2 inch) should be 24 or 12 respectively.
those wheels I got for my western union model 19 i just have the ship
doc here with the size. this shaft needs finer threads to work.
