Also, check the status of the little rubber snubber on the linefeed adjustment on the back reader-side of the platen. If it's starting to crumble,
you'll run into this as well. I replaced mine by removing the original rubber and then progressively building up the tang with progressively larger
applications of heat shrink tubing, and it works well. Mine came apart rather quickly, but before it became "every time there's a linefeed, linefeed
a lot", it was an intermittent double-feed.
The LF linkages have a zillion adjustments, and all of them need to be perfect. Study the diagrams, understand which linkage you have before you
start touching it (there were several version), and I'm sure the remediation will become clear.
cheers,
j

It will do it in LINE and LOCAL mode. It happens fairly infrequently, but is certainly annoying when it does. Since most all the time a linefeed is preceded by a carriage return, what results is the first character on the line is printed, then the extra linefeed occurs, and the second character prints one space over on a new line, e.g.: 1 2(Assuming the sequence received was RETURN, LINEFEED,1,2). What???s happening is RETURN, LINEFEED, 1, (extra)LINEFEED, 2. Is the LINEFEED detector in the stunt box perhaps sticky? If so, any recommendations as to what to do to remedy this situation? Thanks as always to all. -RickRick BenseneThe Old Calculator Museumhttp://oldcalculatormuseum.com
