[GreenKeys] CRT Question

Greetings,
Got around to playing around with a HAL 6850 Telereader that held down a closet 
for years. Surprise, it seems to be working fine with one exception. The green 
screen CRT has a good display except that on the left side of the screen, the 
letters are widened out. Proper height but they are stretched out to about 
three times normal size width. The display becomes normal as you move to the 
right side.
Wondering if any of ye olde TV guys might have a clue to the problem. 
I've played with the adjustments inside the unit but can't tune out this issue. 
Could send a pix of it if that would help.
