Hello All
I have been restoring an old Siemens T100 with tape reperf and reader. I
"appear" to have the teletype machine side sorted,
however I am running it through the old Australian PMG Terminal Unit. I
have been advised by a very good knowledgeable source to wire up the tty
without
the terminal unit, however I was hoping someone may be familiar with the
terminal unit, and there may be
an easy way to get it to work in local. At this stage I want to be able
to type and have the print come up on paper, and
likewise use the tape reperf and reader. This will at least prove that
the tty is working. Any advice greatly accepted. Wanted to add
no disrespect intended to the person who has been assisting me with this
project. I am just hoping there may be someone who
has information on the terminal unit. Efforts thus far to loop the
transmit and receive has not been successful, and have
recently read that the terminal unit can do this itself somehow. I am
thinking that the attempts made so far may be getting
messed with by the terminal unit, thus the advice to remove it all
together. As it is currently getting its power from the
terminal unit, I am trying to avoid a rewire if there is a simple fix to
this.
There was a three way switch on the transmit and receive cord from the
terminal unit, however the switch was not operating.
Any advice on the terminal unit would be greatly appreciated.
