[GreenKeys] Duplicating paper tape on Mylar tape?

In the early '80s, I had the pleasure of being a CNC control technician at
Northrop Aircraft.

Almost all the machines had an optical tape reader with mylar tapes.
After I figured out how a few of the machine operators "sabotaged" the
tape readers so they could take a break while the machine was being
fixed, I made a deal with them, "Don't break anything, just call in a fault
I'll hang around 10-20 minutes and everything is ok."
The problem was when they'd do something to the reader, the machine
would do something awful to the tooling fixture, part, or tools.

Of course, in a shop environment where the operators used a 3/4" air
line to blow all the chips, cutting fluid and hydraulic oil off the machine
beds, the tape readers were perfectly capable of screwing up without
anybody's help.
