[GreenKeys] 33-ASR Paper Tape Punch Faults

Just wanted to confirm the need for time for a carriage return. I made a embedded processor board that received text messages and printed them on my KSR-33. What I didn't appreciate was the time it took for a physical machine to do a carriage return. The first line of text was always perfect, but the subsequent lines sometimes had wrong or missing characters. This was a result of just sending the data, albeit slow at 300 baud, in a constant stream and not waiting after a CR to let the carriage actually return before sending the next characters.
Adding a short delay after a CR fixed these issues.
Hope this helps,
PJ

Make sure the dashpot it square to the plunger. Also the plunger and dashpot should be cleaned with solvent on a rag and lightly coated with oil. After cleaning and lite coat of oil, hold onto the carriage as you type the first CR as the plunger will likely not be aligned to the dashpot.
