Hi all...
Noticed posting on the M15 typebar problem, Reggie
was working on...
Jim is right...Re-positioning the type pallets
is the only correct way to align the type...
The typebars in question are probably
the ones which were recently replaced, i.e. the
NOS typebars provided by various GK'ers...
Bending the typebars is never a good idea...It is slow & tedious to align
the typepallets, but the only way...
You need a fairly heavy duty soldering iron with a chisel face
to heat & re-position the pallet...You mite have to reposition it a few
times to get it rite.
I used the print position of the letter "M" as my starting point...
The rest of the typebars are probably OK, as they were
the original ones in the basket.
Be patient, and the results will be worth it...
Cheers & good luck!
