Hi Dave,

Thank you for the reply! I am happy to hear from you because your post was from 5 years ago and I didn't know if you were still active on this forum.

After I got married and had a son, in 1983 and 1984, this machine and most of my other hobby stuff was all relegated to storage. My son is on his own and I am retired now. Last year, in April 2014, I began this grand project to resurrect my teletype set and my homebrew MC6800-based microcomputer.

Seems like not many people have this set. There doesn't seem to be much information on internet about it, but it is such a great teletype set. Even after all these years the many switch contacts and relays and most of the electrolytic capacitors were still OK (only the caps in the printer bias circuit had failed, as discussed in one of my videos). I tested the automatic line return feature and it works fine. I have the patch panel set to "Configuration A", so I am half duplex to the microcomputer interface.

I have the one stack of sprocket-fed paper and about two and a half paper rolls, one being white paper and the rest canary. I installed fresh new printer ribbons after the Episode 4 video (wound them onto the old spools). I have a whole case of paper tape.

I have the extra copy holder that mounts on the printer cover. The table is missing the tape guide fixture that mounts behind the tape reader, and also missing the "spent-tape and chad bin" but is otherwise in great shape.

I used to have a shortwave receiver and CV-89A demodulator (before I got married) hooked up to this set, and could copy the W1AW teletype bulletins.

The historical information you provided is great. I would like to include it in a future video.

What is CommCenter-1 Group?
