Dear Gabriel;

OK here goes.

Observe Jim Hayes directions: oil EVERYTHING that moves.
If you get a plastic tipped oil bottle, you can oil the
machine while it is running (printing). It's easy to
see what moves, and where it looks like a good place
to put the oil. Don't forget to oil the keyboard too.

Once you've oiled it all you can while it is in place,
it is time to take the typing unit off the base and turn
it up-side-down and get the rest of the point.

STEPS (as best as I can remember. If you have a question
        or not sure of something, send me e-mail)

TURN OFF AND UNPLUG POWER FROM THE MACHINE

1. Remove the cable connector from the typing unit on the
    upper right side by the magnets area.
    Push the ears away from the silver connector and gently
    wiggle the connector out.

2. Look at the pictures and remove the 4 large screws.
    When you remove the one on the right back side make
    sure you are removing the one holding the typing unit
    in place and not the one holding the motor mount. If
    you do the wrong one it is not a problem. A stick
    magnet will come in handy - especially when you put
    the typing unit back in place.

3. Lift the typing unit straight up. It should come out
    easily. It only weight a stone or two  :-)

4. Sit it on a large plastic bag. Marvel at the engineering
    that went into creating this thing!  :-)

5. If you can find an old pillow or blanket, bunch it up
    and use it to rest the typing unit on when you turn it
    up-side-down to oil the insides. You can probably just
    rest the machine on its side - but I've always been
    concerned about it slipping and bending something.

6. When you're satisfied that it's been oiled, stand it
    upright and let the excess oil drip off. You can also
    give the machine a wipe down with an old shirt or
    anything that doesn't leave lint. If you have a box
    of Q-TIPS, you might use them to clean up and messy
    spots on the machine.

7. GENTLY guide the typing unit back into place. There are
    alignment pins sticking up to help you line it up.

8. Now THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP: Once the typing unit
    is in place, gently rest your left hand on the left back
    of the typing unit. Now, with the right hand, turn the
    motor's fan (the silver disk that looks like a squirrel
    cage) so that the top moves toward you (if you look
    at the fan from the right side, you'll be turning it
    counter-clockwise). You shouldn't have to turn it more
    than an inch. I expect your left hand will feel a slight
    bump and the typing unit "seats itself" and the gears
    align.

9. Put your left hand on top of the typing unit and apply
    a little bit of pressure. Now, turn the wheel and watch
    the machine cycle once or twice to make sure all is well.

10.Reinstall the 4 large screws and tighten them until they
    are snug.

11.Put the silver connectors back on. Apply power.

12.Pop open a Guinness and admire your work.
