Steve,

Try reversing the polarity of your connecton to the TT-107B selector
magnets. As I remember, the electrical bias makes the machine polarity
sensitive.

The KLI machines used 7/8" tape, so that they could type along the
margin. But the TT-107 that we have has an adjustment or lever, that
allows using the narrower Teletype Corp tape and then the TT-107 prints
over the feed holes. So you could use the narrower tape in it.

The stand-alone KLI tape readers were the TT-122 (sync motor) and
TT-123 (series governed motor). All of the KLI tape readers will handle
both widths of tape.

KLI did not make a "TD" (transmitter-distributor). M14 tape readers
read the tape in parallel, then needed the big "distributor" to do the
parallel-to-serial conversion. KLI equipment reads the tapes holes in
series, so no conversion necessary and no "distributor".

You may have an easier time finding a TT-76 than a TT-122/123. The
TT-76 is the KLI complete tape unit: perforator, reperforator & tape
reader (the TT-107 is just the reperf section of the TT-76). Manuals are
available for the TT-76: TM 11-5815-238-12 for Operator's Manual and TM
11-5815-238-35 for Maintenance Manual.

Good Luck & Have Fun,
