[GreenKeys] M15 paper path

Over on the broadcast side, we've always torn off the roll paper just like you've shown in your second photo, hence the phrase, "Rip and read news."

But yes, a later post shows a segment of the parts manual and sure does look like there was a parts set to add a cutting edge of some kind.

I'd suggest the metal blade is up against the glass and paper is not thread between the two.

By the time I got involved with the AP use of the M-15s, early 1960s, the AP had started using hard plastic for the glass. I seem to recall that my very old TG-7B had glass, and if I remember that correctly, it was laminated glass, not unlike a windshield.

Ok so I realized I've never quite figured out if I have this right.

It seems to me you'd want to be able to tear the paper off the top of a
M15 without screwing everything up but I can't do that on mine, and I
don't know if it's because if I'm feeding the paper wrong or if
something is assembled wrong or what.

There's a triangular metal bar on the underside of the lid and the glass
on the upper side of the lid, where the paper comes out. It looks like
the paper should go between the two, but then there's no edge to cut the
paper against. The triangular metal bar looks like it could provide a
tearing edge, but if the paper goes under it it impedes it from feeding
freely.

Anyone want to educate me? :)
