This set and a companion model that sits on a desk are designed to keep any internal arcs from being exposed to a gaseous atmosphere.
They used to have a lot of applications for mines and pipelines. The phones are supposed to keep explosions from occurring
not to survive any explosions. The one on ebay is a wall mount set.
