I assumed the one in the ARTS article was also upper case only.

I can read one of the patent numbers in your photos  1,957,076 and
that patent shows something that does appear to operate on the old
stock ticker principle, in that there is an escapement connected with
that big permanent magnet, and the transmitter involves a shaft that
rotates and stops at a particular position when a key is pressed.
It's a patent that wasn't filed for until 1932 and not issued until 1934.
Which is pretty late for that kind of printing mechanism.

Can you tell us what other patent number(s) are on the patent plate?
