If you have or are going to upgrade to Windows 10, you may want to look into this. You can turn off some of these “features” but you need to know how. There may be other personal security “features” that you cannot control but I don’t know about that.

An acquaintance of mine made this nice collage of Windows 10
"features"; at points it's a bit hyperbolic and it of course invokes
Godwin's Law. But for the consumption of the list:

Please note: Windows 10 is always phoning home, always. Even if you
turn it off. Unless you spent a metric f<redacted>tonne on the
Enterprise version and a VLK for it. Also, let's not forget: Windows
10 by default COMES WITH A FSCKING KEYLOGGER.

If you're going to use Windows use Windows 7 (with a Windows XP VM if
you need to run anything 16-bit). If you're not tied to Windows, I
seriously advise you go Linux. And perhaps in a few years, if things go
well I'll advise you to pick up a V9.x version of VMS. (For those not
in the loop: HP essentially sold [Open]VMS to "VMS Software, Inc." who
will be porting VMS to x86-64 eventually.)

Cheers,
Christian
