Its almost too simple a question to ask, but did you reverse the leads?

I don’t know about the ST-6000, but the later ST-6’s have a molex connector on the back for the loop. There are actually 2 loop connections on that molex. If you run only one machine, you need to jumper part of that molex connector. Again, I don’t know about the 6000. Just a suggestion

I purchased an ST-6000 and cannot get the loop to work with my model 28. I hooked it up to the loop connector, but the machine runs open. I checked and I do have the correct loop voltage. If I ground the return line from the 28 the selector magnets close. Am I missing a jumper or something on the 6 pin connector?
My ST-6 works just fine with the 28.
