Hello Dave & al;
My eBay listings state "CONUS only (CONtinental United States).
I did have a guy in New Zealand ask if I would ship to N.Z.
I replied OK - if he wants to pick up the tab - and I'll take
a picture of the box at the U.S. Post Office - what happens
after that is not my problem.
He agreed. It cost about $40.oo to ship it to him, and in
about 2 weeks he had it and was delighted.
Note: eBayers have been warned about scam-buyers in Russia
and places that have names that are difficult to pronounced,
let alone spell.
I sold a Ten-Tec ORION I on eBay. I had it listed for, I think, $2,000.oo.
A few weeks after I sold the unit I got an e-mail from a ham in
Denmark. He said that someone in (everyone's FAVORITE communist country)
had MY LISTING posted on the Asia eBay - and gave me the link.
Sure enough, it was my listing - write-up and pictures. They didn't
even delete or change my callsign.
I contacted eBay and told them what was going on. I provided A LOT of
documentation proving I was the REAL SELLER.
Typical of ebay [NOTE: YMMV], they said: "there was NO WAY to tell which
one (me or the other guy) was lying - so they couldn't do anything about
the listing.
That attitude cranked me off so much that I SPAMMED them with about 50
pictures of my radio shack, the original bill of sale with the serial
number, and picture of me on my patio, holding a big sign with my
call letters on it, where the pictures were taken for the eBay ad.
UE,
K2EAA - TONY

Back in my day we didn't have virtual reality or
video games. If an axe-wielding one-eyed razorback
barbarian warrior was chasing after you, you just
had to hope you could outrun him.
