Anyone ever heard of a Collins 706A-2 diversity FSK converter and /or
have any info on it? We just got one in at the AWA Museum. I looked on
the Internet and could not find any mention of it. The converter chassis
has a tag with model number "706A-2" and the separate power supply is
tagged "707A-1." Perhaps there was a different model number for the
combined units?
The power supply chassis has an ARINC asset(?) tag on it - perhaps was
used by FAA??
Inside the converter, each diversity channel has a "600/850" switch, so
looks like it was set up for either 600hz or 850hz shift. I've never
heard of anyone using 600hz shift, but maybe it could have allowed two
TTY channels to be run in one 3Kc audio channel??
Picture enclosed. Any comments on this unit would be appreciated.
Thanks & 73,
