Our most recent model 19 was brought to us a while back in a small
minivan plus a whole bunch of other TTY goodies!

This would have been a problem if I had tried to go pick it up in the
old sedan de ville.

Now model 15s break down for caddy transport ok. stand in truck and
typer mech on one side of back seat the the case on the other side...
( Thick cardboard and plastic on the bottom of seat and the back of
course to protect that leather! We did 2 UPI machines this way.

OK back to the 19 ... just the width of the 19's table is the gotcha
! Ed#

You don't really need a truck to get it. I transported a complete model 19
in good condition home from the other side of Pennsylvania to Central Ohio
in my Ford Focus hatchback. Don House has seen my car in action and I have
had much more in it. You will need to remove all of the components from the
table and load everything separately, but it can be done. I had that plus
2 tuning units, an oscilloscope, a model 28 typing unit and cables and
still had room for another passenger.

Steve,

Even the ones made of wood are not intended to be taken apart.
However if the rear cover is still on the machine (not likely)
you would want to take it off and make sure to unplug and remove
the rectifier as it weighs almost as much as the rest of the table.

Good luck,
Don
