[GreenKeys] TT-100G Selector Assembly

Is "J" the only letter that doesn't space correctly? The black half-moon
shaped "punch bar guide block" on the right side of the printer frame is
what controls spacing. For characters that aren't supposed to "space" the
function selecting arm should come to a stop over a opening in the punch
block so the spacing mechanism isn't activated. Where on the punch bar
guide block does the function selecting arm come to rest for the letter "J"?
It should be on a solid portion of the block. Double check that first.

The spacing function is initiated when the function selecting arm is blocked
and the function cam causes the cam follower to pivot causing the support
lever to pivot thus pivoting the carriage feed lever causing the carriage
feed link to be pulled to the right causing the carriage feed to advance one
space. Watch this mechanism for another character that does seem to space
OK, than compare to what "looks different" for the letter "J".

Could be something as simple as the adjustment of the function selecting arm
claw.

Does the bell ring on shifted "S"?

Thanks all for the advice. I made the adjustments to the springs per Steve
and re-installed the unit now with all the screws tightened down. It is now
typing every time I push a key and most keys seem to work and print
correctly. Will have to look closely why the letter j types but paten does
not move over a space for the next character. Figs works but not ltrs key
and I am thinking that might be something to do with the functions selector.

Anyway thanks for all the good advice and it is at least printing each time
which it was not doing before.

Thinking back 40 some odd years I don't think I ever used a gauge to set
those screws. Just set them so that it takes a small amount of force to
move from one side to the other with the "same" amount of force on both
sides and the armature staying the way you moved it while power is off.
Doing lots and lots of machines it was a "feel" that was acquired!
