What an absolutely fascinating thread! Even though I've been interested in
this stuff for over a half century I had no idea that this existed nor did I
ever read about it being used in active ham radio! And it has only been a
few years since diversity reception and related functions have been
available as a software defined radio product. I did look at the photos on
the auction site and must admit that I found that very interesting. And
since it is possible for me to try such stuff since I do have a capable
radio and antennas separated by more than a wavelength the process is
possible for me. But given the fact that ham radio has so many fascinating
aspects today I will admit that "True RTTY" is fairly far down on my project
list. But if you guys start reporting that actual QSOs are taking place
with real machines I will certainly give this some real thought! Weak
signal and digital modes are my principal interests.
