Here's the best photo I've found yet of the teletype (they were using AS/R 28 at 100 wpm in the 70's) at NORAD CMC National Warning Center. The EAN tape was kept on red mylar in a locked cabinet, with an identical setup in Bldg 11, Area B, High Point / Special Facility. The authenticators had to be manually inserted at autostops. It took about five minutes to send an EAN tty. In a recent FOIA request, DOD responded. effectively, "We have no idea what you're talking about." This is also referenced in John Cross' blog post on the WHCA manual. Hoping to get somewhere, maybe, with the Pres Ford Library or the successor ADCOM/NORAD command historian. Maybe the Natl Archives.
