GA OMs;
Well - I put the typing unit on the base and applied power.
The 35-KSR turned over and hummed softly in local-loop position.
I tried typing on the keyboard and for the longest time the
keyboard mechanism cycled and the typing unit made a noise or
two. Then something happened and I was able to type - but only
"D" and "@" printed. Hitting certain keys caused the 35 to go
back into some kind of off-line mode.
I decided that the best idea was to get the typing unit
connected to the RTTY loop and send stuff to is - so I could
see what it is doing. I checked the voltage on the magnets and it
is only 1.5 volts. Does that sound right (that's in local loop mode)?
Can anyone find on the 35 wiring diagram where it shows how to connect
(what pins on what block) the machine to an outside loop? Since this
thing has a built-in power supply - and I have no idea as to what it is
needed for, I am leary of connecting the machine to my local loop. I
don't know what could get blown-up.
73,
tony
