50 or so years ago I was stationed on Treasure Island naval Station, San Francisco Bay. 
I was attending USNAVY electronics school. Basic electronics for about 10 months and then equipment training on SRR SERIES RECEIVERS, OS-8 scope and some Uhf gear I forget what it was.  The most gun was the TTY training. I don't exactly remember the units but one was the ASR 28. We had to tune the SRR receivers for a good signal and adjust for proper copy. While tuning around , many of us would copy AP or UPI to rad ute news. To our shock the copy typed out Kennedy's death. 
I kept the yellow paper for a couple years but it was lost at my next duty station.
