I certainly wouldn't know whether or not 50Hz gears existed - though if
these machines were exported to the UK in any numbers, one could reasonably
expect that they did.
But if the motor speed is the only significant hurdle, then a 60Hz inverter
(or a more advanced synchronous motor speed controller circuit) might be
the most straightforward way to go, in the absence of a proper 50Hz gear
set. Having said that, custom gears can certainly be cut, if you can
provide a set of drawings..
How do the +rest+ of the UK-side TTY users handle this issue? They all run
UK-built hardware?
